Oh, hello, April!

No, seriously. It has been so action-packed it’s like a Stallone movie. But instead of bullets, we’re killing each other with art!

First, we took our very first step into the world of educators. We were invited by a former professor of Diana’s at Georgia State University, Phillip Depoy, who is now the head of the theatre department at Clayton State University. Laura and Diana headed off at the end of March to teach an improv class to Phillip’s college students. It was such a great experience! The students really seemed interested in our brand of theatre, in making theatre yourself out of nothing and cardboard all taped together, and in general were just a lot of fun. Laura and Diana were invited to teach again in the fall semester, so we must have done something right! Here’s a video of the two of them explaining the game Bong Bong Bong (well, Laura’s explaining, Diana’s filming) and then the students giving it a whirl.

You might have heard about THE LAST CARGO CULT at the Alliance Theatre by Mike Daisey. We went to see a special one-night performance of his HOW THEATRE FAILED AMERICA, which was followed by a round table discussion with a whole lot of theatre professionals in Atlanta. I won’t bore you with every revelation we had there, every awesome person we met, but safe to say it made us realize that we are on the right track, baby. Yeah!

And of course, April 8th was the big ALL ABOUT VAG benefit for the Lady Ms. Vagina Jenkins, our favorite burlesque performer and who once had a big fundraiser and gave half of the money to US! So when she said she needed one for herself, to raise some money to go to London and participate in a prestigious burlesque competition, of course we had to participate. She is the sexiest bitch in the world and hopefully she’ll knock the socks and bras off the Brits! I took a crazy amount of pictures and want to share with you! I didn’t take any of the sexy pictures, because if you’d really wanted to see A LOT of boobies (and one ballsack), you would have been there. And if you were there, then you remember. It is burned into your retinas.

The evening started off with some rock ‘n roll!

The Gazelles - awesome grrl rock!

Then THE MOST AWESOME DRAG QUEEN IN THE WORLD came out and did an incredible puppet drag queen routine. His name is Tim Monteith, check him out. Incredible.

Back-up dancers!

Later in the evening he did another routine as Wilma Flintstone riding a dinosaur and they sang a duet together!

Wilma loves that dinosaur!

After that we saw burlesque performances from Fonda Lingue, Bernadette Cinders, and Lah Lah Luscious, masters all in the art of the tease.

I didn’t get a good picture of it, but there was also a teabagging conga line with Al Schlong. Twinhead loves a good teabag! Not the political party, though. Just the hilarious sex act.

And Molly, Krista, Cherry, Barbara Tushbant, and new friend Becca Scott TORE UP THE DANCE FLOOR with an awesome hip-hop dance. Check this video, bitches, and see that ass shake ‘n quake.

Then we saw the very convincing drag kings Devin Liquor and K.E.V.I.N., heard some Neftunes, and got really hot watching the sexy aerialist Sadie Hawkins, musically accompanied by Twinhead founder and former Artistic Director Deisha Oliver! Also, we heard a song about masturbation!

And then it was time for ATTACK OF THE SIX-FOOT VAGINA, or MISOGYNY, FUCK YEAH! written by Johnny Drago and featuring Twinhead friend Jason Toups!

Six Foot Vagina! Auughhh!

Johnny Drago as Rock Paperscissors and Jason Toups as Captain Colonel

Rock and the Vagina

And of course, got a couple of sweet shots of the sexy Lady Ms. Vagina Jenkins!

Vagina Jenkins is just too sexy.

See? SEE??

And of course, in between all those things, we were rehearsing and building WONDERS OF THE WORLD: RECITE. It’s coming along great! We’ve got a boat, an octopus, aaaaaaaand….DATES FOR THE SHOW! Hooray! It’ll be showing at Push Push Theater in Decatur May 20-22 and at Eyedrum, alongside the Missoula Oblongata’s new show for a very special double feature, June 11-13! More info on all of that to come!

In the meantime, please follow us on Twitter and fan us on Facebook! We post updates and jokes on the daily. And follow the links all throughout this post to find out more about all the awesome artists that donated their time and talents to the lovely Ms. Jenkins just like ourselves. We had a great time meeting them and hopefully will be working with them in the years to come!

We also hope everything is going swimmingly for you, delightful Twinhead fans. We miss you and we can’t wait to see you soon at WONDERS OF THE WORLD!
